Thank you Nekteck!

If you’re looking for a safe aftermarket USB-C Power Delivery (PD) and USB charger + cable for your laptop or phone – look no further because we’ve found you the perfect device from Nekteck.

The Nekteck USB C Charger 4-Port 72W Wall Charger with Type-C 60W PD Power has three USB ports that charge at 2.4a each, and a USB-C PD port that will provide up to 60w of power – enough to charge all modern USB-C laptops.

It offers the standard PD charging rails of 5v, 9v, 12v, 15v, 20v at a maximum of 3A.

Oh, and don’t be put off by this charger being a maximum of 60w, worried it might fry your device. If your device is an 18w device like a phone, or a 45w device like a laptop, it will only draw the power it needs and no more.

There are three things I really appreciate about this particular charger from Nekteck:

1) USB-IF certification as standard

The first thing I love about it – and the main reason I bought it – is that both the charger and the cable are USB-IF certified. Nekteck went to a LOT of time, trouble and expense to get this charger and its included C to C cable tested and USB-IF certified. Why does this matter? Well, a device that’s USB-IF certified won’t damage your equipment; it’s that simple. A device that’s been USB-IF certified has gone through stringent tests and guarantees your device won’t get fried by poor quality charging components. For more information, please see https://www.usb.org/about.

Nekteck are also in the tiny minority of companies who have bothered to get their tech certified. I really mean this: I think they should be rewarded for putting their money where their mouth is. Type ‘USB-IF’ into the product search box on Amazon and see how few products come up. I wish every company who made after-market chargers would follow Nekteck’s shining example.

2) Great price

The second thing I love is its price. Despite being USB-IF certified, it costs no more than the many other similarly available chargers that haven’t been certified.

3) Great performance

The third thing I love is (with points one and two in the bag), it charges all my tech as fast as all the original chargers do. I have a few Qualcomm QC3 chargeable devices that it charges at full pelt, a whole bunch of Apple and Android stuff that charges from USB at full speed, and my two Chromebooks also charge at full 45W speed. With several devices charging (Google Pixelbook, iPad Pro and Google Pixel 2 phone) the charger itself got warm, sure, but never hot.
